Very big in fact: they have over 100 betting options on more than 13,000 live betting events every single month, covering sports including football, basketball, tennis, ice hockey and even handball. The dedicated live betting section of their site is very easy to negotiate and allows you to find the events and markets you want to bet on without much hassle at all.

Similar praise can be heaped on 10bet’s mobile offering, which is up there with the best in the business when it comes to the range of betting markets available and the ease of use of the interface. You can visit their mobile site using any internet-enabled mobile device and you’ll find the same great range of betting options as you can get on the desktop version.

10bet tend to focus on football betting more than some of their rivals, but not to the detriment of other sports they cover. Having said that, the majority of their betting offers are football-related, which will clearly be perfect for many footy fans. Their customer service is also top notch, with live chat, phone and email support available 24/7. All in all, 10bet are a very fine bookmaker.

About 10bet

10bet Football Betting Screenshot

The online gaming company 10bet was formed in 2003, being operated by Ocean Star Limited. It gained a gambling licence from the Malta Gaming Authority, with Ocean Star Limited also being based in the archipelago. As you will no doubt be aware if you know a little about gambling in the UK, the licence issued for operation here was issued by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. Indeed, the company has gained licences from the various jurisdictions in which it operates, such as the Swedish Gambling Authority allowing it to run betting operations in the country of Sweden and so on.

10bet joined the pantheon of betting companies that were just beginning to take advantage of the start of internet gambling when it began operating not long after the turn of the millennium. Indeed, the Gambling Act in the UK hadn’t even become law at the time that 10bet launched, showing you just how early the company was the get in on the ground floor of an industry that would later go supersonic. They embraced new technology from an early stage, using the likes of Google Analytics to help them gain status in a competitive marketplace from the outset.

Who Owns 10bet?

Question Mark Icon on Grey BackgroundThere is something slightly mysterious about 10bet, despite the company existing for two decades plus. It is not easy to get to the bottom of who owns and operates the company, though that doesn’t mean that there’s anything to worry about. It is more just that 10bet operates in such a way that the owner and operator are not of any real importance. Indeed, the licence for the company will have a different name on it depending on which country it was taken out in, with both Ocean Star Limited and Blue Star Planet Limited being associated with 10bet.

On the company’s UK website, it says the following:

“10bet.co.uk is owned by Water Tree Limited and operated by Blue Star Planet Limited (a company registered in Malta, address: Dragonara Business Centre, 5th Floor, Dragonara Road, St. Julians STJ3141, Malta). Our services are regulated and licensed by the Great Britain Gambling Commission (Licence Number 43173).”

The key line is obviously that the UK site is ‘owned by Water Tree Limited’. Not that that necessarily helps us much, considering Water Tree Limited is equally as low profile as the rest of the behind-the-scenes operation of 10bet.

One of the names associated with 10bet during the company’s formative years was Shalom Meckenzie. Meckenzie went on to launch SBTech, the technology company, and later became one of the major shareholders of DraftKings. It is fair to say, therefore, that the business had a solid operating base form early doors. Meckenzie transferred his shares in 10bet to his brother in 2018, with the parent company registered with the British government having been known as Meckenzie Leisure Limited for a short time.

A Global Company

Grey World Map and Globe

Whilst the company might be concealed when it comes to the comings and goings behind-the-scenes, they remain a solidly operating business. This can be shown thanks to the launch of 10bet in Africa, with operations in the markets of Ghana, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia, as well as a 2022 launch into Kenya. 10bet also launched in Asia, operating as a reseller for the likes of SBTech in the expanding market. It is all part of the business’ move to be able to operate its wares worldwide.

In addition to its launch in Africa, 10bet also operates in the likes of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Norway and Sweden. It is a company that keeps its operation relatively limited in comparison to other betting sites, preferring to look to offer a solid business in the areas that it is already operating in. When it launched in Africa, its Chief Operating Officer in the area was Arthur Perry, who spoke of the ‘years of planning, adapting and developing’ that went into getting the site ready to launch in the jurisdiction.

Sponsorships & Awards

Number 10 Football Shirt Icon on Grey BackgroundAs part of the company’s effort to increase its public profile, it engaged in numerous sponsorships over the years. In 2018, for example, 10bet sponsored Blackburn Rovers as the club attempted to gain promotion out of the Championship and back into the English top-flight. It also worked with EFL club West Bromwich Albion during the same period, sponsoring the club’s shirt for the 2018-2019 season. The business also sponsored the Italian giants Juventus, becoming the club’s betting and gaming partner in 2019.

10bet’s work has seen the company win some awards over the years. As far back as 2013, 10bet made the shortlist for iGB’s Best Affiliate Program award. That was a solid demonstration of how far the company had come in the decade or so since its launch, doing good work to bring affiliates on board to help it spread its message. That was as nothing when compared to 2019, however. That was the year that 10bet won the Re-branding and Poster Campaign, as well as the Graphics Design award.
