Betsafe Review

Betsafe are a relatively new bookmaker having officially launched online in January 2006, but the industry expertise and resources of the parent company, BML Group Ltd, are quite evident. Based in Malta, but with Scandinavian origins (where the bookie is particularly popular), Betsafe is now licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission and has expanded into the UK market, among others, where they offer their sportsbook along with casino, live casino and poker products.

Betsafe’s unstinting commitment to their customers is one of the reasons they have grown in popularity in recent years, and their customer charter goes some way to reassure us that they do live up to their name. Indeed we would have no qualms about betting with Betsafe and we trust them to deal with our personal and financial data as well as the best of them, and especially since the stringent UK Gambling Commission have become their regulator for UK-based customers.

Please note - as of the 21st October 2020 Betsafe have notified the UK Gambling Commission that they have ceased providing services to customers in Great Britain.

Features

Betsafe Live Betting

The Betsafe sports betting site is a nice-looking interface with a modest but refined grey and red design. With quick links to the most popular markets and sports and a decent live betting interface, they have kept things relatively simple but rather effective too.

A slick mobile betting site complements the main desktop site, and Android and Apple users will find the navigation easy to negotiate and the presentation simple and concise enough to avoid unnecessary clutter.

There is not the range of betting offers at Betsafe that you would find when visiting some of the bigger and more established bookies, but – judging by the number of offers they present for their other products, especially their online casino – we are hopeful this will improve in time.

One area in which Betsafe are particularly strong, as mentioned in the introduction, is when it comes to looking after their customers. Their customer charter suggests they aim to answer all live chats within a minute and all emails within an hour, and while this could be seen more as an aspiration than a definite statement of fact, it still shows they take customer support seriously and we found their staff to be polite, knowledgeable and very efficient.

Overall we don’t see Betsafe challenging the biggest players in the UK betting market any time soon, but if you fancy a bookie who have a decent range of markets, a nice betting interface on desktop and mobile and a strong commitment to their customers then give it a look today.
