32Red Sport is the sports betting product of the London Stock Exchange-listed gambling giant 32Red Plc, which is best known for its online casino. Based in Gibraltar, 32Red was established in the year 2000 and quickly grew into a major player in the world of online gambling. They expanded from their successful online casino into poker, bingo and, as detailed here, their sportsbook.

Licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, 32Red are committed to offering excellence when it comes to service and support for customers, and with the financial clout that they have at their disposal they have the resources to go the extra mile on this front. They are also committed to offering customers a good range of betting offers and bonuses, and their mobile and live betting interfaces have clearly seen investment in recent years, as we will outline below.

Features

32Red Sport Live Betting

Aside from the welcome bonus 32Red Sport have regular event-specific bonuses and promotions for existing customers. Horse racing fans can enjoy daily price boosts on selected runners, giving you that extra bit of value when betting on the nags.

The bookie has a nice Cash-In feature which allows you to take the option to settle your wager before the event on which you have bet has reached its conclusion. For instance if your in-play correct score bet is winning with five minutes to go in a football match, but you are feeling nervous about the scoreline staying as it is, you can opt to press the Cash-In button to settle early for a specified amount.

The Cash-In feature takes place on the very well designed live betting platform which is very easy to negotiate and, whether you are betting on your desktop or mobile device, you will find a decent range of events with very competitive odds.

As mentioned, 32Red’s support is very good, with 24/7 live chat and email support available to customers of any of their gaming products. With efficient, knowledgeable and friendly staff, if you ever do run into difficulties we are confident they will help you out swiftly. All in all, 32Red is a solid sportsbook with some nice features, and though its initial free bet could be bigger, its range of markets, competitive odds, great mobile betting site and event-specific offers and bonuses are worth joining for.

About 32Red

32Red Sports Betting Screenshot

Launching in 2002, 32Red moved to take advantage of the newly burgeoning world of online gambling. Indeed, the company hit the web before the Gambling Act of 2005 had even been signed into law in the United Kingdom, offering a sense of where this company fits in the evolution of the sector. As proof of how well it had done to establish itself in a competitive industry, 32Red was bought by the Kindred Group in 2017, joining the roster of a company that also owns the likes of Unibet and Maria Casino, having been founded in 1997.

Based in the British overseas territory of Gibraltar, 32Red has been a licence holder there since the company’s launch. It also operates in the UK thanks to a licence issued by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission, suggesting that it operates to the highest of standards. The company also has a certification from eCOGRA, the independent auditors that test the games offered on a regular basis to ensure that the Random Number Generators are working fairly.

The company made the headlines in 2010 when it decided to take William Hill to court over the English bookmaker’s use of the brand ‘32Vegas’. That was later renamed to become 21Nova, with Mr Justice Henderson ruling that William Hill had infringed 32Red’s trademark. He also moved to dismiss the countersuit that William Hill had launched, saying that 32Red’s trade marking of 32 and 32Red were unfair.

Who Owns 32Red?

Kindred LogoSince July 2017, 32Red has been owned by the Kindred Group. Formerly known as Unibet Group Plc, the Kindred Group has been in operation since 1997 when it was founded by Anders Ström. They have worked hard to establish their place in a competitive market, including obtaining one of just 48 new licences that were issued when the Danish market was re-regulated in 2011. Part of the group’s focus has been to buy up smaller companies in order to expand, such as the 2012 takeover of the Danish online bookmaker Bet24.

32Red also fits into that narrative, following in the footsteps of other sites like Bingo.com and Stan James when it joined the recently re-branded Kindred Group in 2017. The deal was believed to be worth in excess of £200 million. It wasn’t the end of the Kindred Group’s expansion strategy, making a move into the sports betting market in the USA thanks to the purchase of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City in 2018. In less than a year, the company had also entered into a deal with the Mohegan Sun Pocono Casino in Pennsylvania.

Early Growth from Startup to Major Player

Stack of Red Casino Chips IsolatedBefore 32Red gained the attention of the Kindred Group, the business had progressed well enough to engage in some acquisitions of its own. In September of 2014, for example, 32Red moved to buy the UK-based customer database of GoWild Casino. Within a year, another move was on the cards. This time, 32Red bought the Roxy Palace Casino in a deal worth £8.4 million. That move ensured that the company was able to register net gaming revenue of £48.7 million in 2015, which was an increase of 52% year-over-year.

The company was in rude health at that point, confirming that it was considering further acquisitions. Of course, the nature of the betting world is such that companies are rarely able to keep themselves moving forward before a bigger competitor notices them. That is what 32Red did with GoWild and Roxy Palace casinos, so it is no surprise that it was flagged up onto the watchlist of the Kindred Group. Instead of making further acquisitions itself, 32Red was instead bought by the bigger company.

Sponsorships & Awards

Red 3D Star Trophy

32Red is a company that is rightly proud of the awards that it has won over the years. In 2009, for example, it was named the Casino of the Decade by one review site. Not a bad achievement considering it had only been operating for seven years at that point. For customers, the good news was that the site won the Most Reputable Casino award for several years in succession, to say nothing of the Best Casino Customer Service award a number of times.

As with many online gambling companies, 32Red moved to get its name into the minds of consumers through sponsorships. Between 2006 and 2008, for example, they were the kit sponsor of Aston Villa, the Premier League football team. They would sponsor Villa’s kits again a decade later, but in the meantime took on sponsorship duties at the likes of Swansea City, Crawley Town and Rangers. It isn’t just football where 32Red have been engaged in sponsorship. The company has invested in horse racing over the years, being key sponsors at Kempton’s Christmas meeting and the All-Weather Championship in the past.
